"CLICKER LESSON"
Use the pre-make databases, (both numeric and alpha to easily engage students in effective math lessons. All databases are in Chalkboard form, so you can demonstrate on classroom board with chalk or dry erase markers or use a wireless tablet to write, change colors, erase while delivering the lesson. A very powerful tool that easily incorporates research based instructional strategies. Try some of these, again, the possibilites are endless:
-
Give students a worksheet from the resource disk and use There It Is! "game" to pre-test and motivate students into wanting to learn a short-cut - today's objective :-) Then, go over questions missed to teach.
-
Use the There It Is "game" to create the sense of urgency and force students to apply mental math concepts and short-cuts GREAT WITH NUMERIC CLICKERS!!! (give worksheet and answer key for use with alpha clickers)
-
Use the TMA mode. All lessons are in the CHALKBOARD form, Have students work with a partner and enter answers on one clicker - promotes math discussion and cooperative learning.
-
In TMA mode, set the timer to automatically move to the next question, creating a slower version of the DVD Workout. They can enter answers and you'll have a record!
-
Use the SMA mode to have students enter answers while you use the DVD to demostrate. You can see if students are "on track" while you demonstrate.
-
Let students who already know a skill to "Race the DVD". Use the SMA when you engage a lesson, and play the DVD seperately. Students can try to enter before the problem changes. The speed of the DVD may not allow students to get all answers entered, but those who already feel comfortable with a skill love to try :-) [top of page] [print this page] [go back] |
